Village Emergency Services are there to preserve life, health and public welfare, and to maintain the peace. We have an excellent network in place to cope with any emergency and you can count on these services 24/7. As always however, when in doubt about who to reach, be sure to dial 911 first and they will put you in touch with the appropriate Department.
The Village of Ballston Spa employs six full-time and 10 to 12 part-time officers. They are on duty at the Village Police Department 24/7, serving the residents of the Village by providing protection and assistance in both criminal and civilian matters.
The Village Fire Department is a volunteer force of more than 150 active members, headed by the Fire Chief, with the support of three Assistant Chiefs.
Two companies make up the Department: the Eagle Matt Lee Company #1 and Union Fire Company #2. The Department provides 24/7 fire, rescue and HAZMAT services to the Village, as well as basic life-support services. For greater service, each fire company also carries an automatic external defibrillator (AED).
