Welcome to Our Village
First settled in 1771, the Village of Ballston Spa incorporated in 1807. Today, it is is a charming historic village with a friendly, hometown atmosphere, destination shopping and eateries, and a visible sense of community.
For those of us who live in the Village, downtown is less than a five minute walk - which brings us to the downtown business district. Stroll along and visit your favorite cafe or restaurant, the library or post office, or sit in the Wiswall Park or along Front street and people-watch. This is a different way of doing things from getting into your car and heading out to the mall. If you're looking for family activities, take the kids to the Village municipal pool or to Kelley Park on Ralph Street to enjoy the expansive and popular playground. Check out our online calendar for seasonal events that are free and open to the public. We look forward to greeting you soon!
*** Due to the pandemic, the Village Office will be closed to walk-ins. Appointments can be made by calling the office at 518.885.5711 between the hours of 8:30am and 4:00pm M-F.
All meters cards, payments and correspondence should be mailed or put in the silver lock box in front of the office.
Instructions for attending Village meetings online:
On your computer, go to zoom.us and join a meeting. On a cell phone, download the free Zoom app (zoom.us). Once you have the app you can open it and join meetings. Either way, join by entering the zoom meeting ID number. This platform will allow public comment by either the chat function or by raising your hand at the appropriate time in the meeting (public comment). You can call into the Village office on the day of the meeting to get the login information for each meeting. This will be the procedure for all public meetings (Village Board, Planning Board, Zoning Board, etc.) We will try to get agendas and zoom meeting numbers online well in advance of our meetings moving forward.
