Resident Quick FAQs

  • Village Sidewalks +

    Please take notice that pursuant to Village Law, Chapter 174, all property owners in the Village are responsible for the maintenance of all sidewalks that border their properties. This includes snow removal and repairs.

  • How do I get copies of Birth/Death Certificates? +

    Please download the form here. You may bring it directly to the office or mail it in with a copy of your ID and a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Please check the NYS Health Department (link here) list to be sure you are eligible to receive this information.

  • How can I get in touch with the Home Improvement Grant Office? +

    The Grant Office is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Grant Office can be reached at (518) 885-3167

  • Where can I pay my parking ticket? +

    You can pay at the Village Court (click here for more info).

  • What are the regulations about leaf and brush pickup? +

    If brush is being picked by County Waste, it must be bundled with string and 3 inches in diameter by no longer than 4 feet.

    If it is picked up by the Village, it must be bundled and no longer than 4' (for branches, etc.)

    Brush pickup ends in the last week of November.

    Note: County Waste provides this service for free. In the fall the Village requests that leaves and brush be separated.

  • How can I get information about my property taxes? +

    Assessment records are maintained for free at the Village Clerk's Office.
